Accessibility

Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance is committed to providing welcoming and accessible experiences for people with disabilities. We work with our venue partners to help patrons access our performances, educational programs, community events, and online information.

Requesting Assistance

Accessibility needs vary from person to person and from venue to venue. Patrons are encouraged to contact us with questions or accommodation requests. Advance notice gives us the greatest opportunity to coordinate appropriate assistance, but we will make every reasonable effort to respond whenever a request is received.

Attending a Performance

Terpsicorps presents its performances in professional venues that provide accessible entrances, restrooms, seating, and other accommodations. Specific accessibility information, including wheelchair seating and available assistive-listening services, will be provided with the details for each performance venue.

Service animals are welcome in accordance with venue policies. Patrons who use wheelchairs or have other mobility needs may contact our Accessibility Coordinator for assistance identifying appropriate seating and navigating the venue.

Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Patrons

Assistive-listening technology may be available through the performance venue. Because available equipment varies, patrons are encouraged to contact us or the venue before attending.

Terpsicorps performances are primarily movement-based and generally contain little or no spoken dialogue. When programs include spoken introductions, discussions, or other verbal content, patrons may contact us to discuss available accommodations. Videos containing spoken content are captioned whenever possible.

Blind and Low-Vision Patrons

Program information can be provided upon request in a plain-text digital format compatible with screen-reading and enlargement technology. Large-print program information may also be requested.

With advance notice, Terpsicorps can arrange for a staff member or trained intern to provide a brief verbal overview of a production, including its themes, structure, music, characters, and other important visual context.

Cognitive and Sensory Access

We provide advance information about performance dates, times, locations, program content, and approximate duration. When appropriate, we also provide notice of potentially intense content or theatrical effects.

Patrons, caregivers, and families are encouraged to contact our Accessibility Coordinator to discuss individual needs and prepare for the performance experience.

Website and Online Assistance

Terpsicorps works to make its website and digital communications accessible by using descriptive text for meaningful images and captions for videos containing spoken content.

Anyone who encounters difficulty accessing information, completing an online form, or purchasing tickets online may contact us directly for assistance.
